Minerva - Microcantilever Biosensor

Part of a student led research project developing a microcantilever biosensor to monitor levels of sodium valproate, a drug used to treat epilepsy and bipolar disorder.​​

 

The team entered the SensUs Competition, coming fourth in the public vote and being awarded a ‘Gold Medal’ for the quality of work.

​​

Primary responsibility was analysing technical and financial feasibility of proposed concepts, in conjunction with developing the circuit level design of the microcantilever. Also looked at developing a viable business plan for our product. 

​​

Aided with development of the microcantilever itself, collaborating with other students from different technical backgrounds throughout the design process.
