Aceso - Smart Pill Dispenser

Medication and its correct dosage plays a vital role in the mental and physical wellbeing of individuals. Amidst a context of tightening daily schedules, adherence to medical regimes is becoming increasingly difficult for many.

That’s why we created Aceso. Aceso proposes a portable, affordable, and automated pill dispensary aimed at the more active 30-65 y/o age bracket. It allows individuals to better adhere to their prescription medication. After developing an initial proof of concept, the team then developed a business plan up till the manufacturing and distribution stage.

Personal responsibilities for the proof of concept include:

 

• Backend work done through Firebase and writing the functional aspect of the website, frequently using HTML and JavaScript.

​

• Aided with realising Firebase functions on the microcontroller within the device as well as GSM communications between the device and user.

• Also designed, prototyped and developed hardware elements including the dispenser chassis and locking mechanism.
